Very good amount of food for the price! We came in a group of 5 and we had leftover food to take home because there was so much. The entraña was delicious and definitely my favorite part. The service could be better but overall a very comfortable place to dine with your family.

Amazing!! Delicious food and wonderful attentive service! I am Uruguayan and this is the BEST Chivito I've had in the USA. It is a must for Uruguayans and everyone that wants to experience Uruguayan culture and food! 10/10!! We had a pitcher of Sangria which was delicious, the bread and pizza chimichurri taste amazing and so refreshing! Tastes like you're having a mini pizza to start off the meal sooo soo good, the chimichurri is exactly how my mom makes it, to compliment any grilled meats or the Chivito! It is a little far for me but it was well worth the trip! Ambiance is very homey no frills or unnecessary embellishments just about the good food and Uruguayan cultural decor. They have a generous amount of flat screen tvs to watch any sporting event without missing a beat!

We got meats for 2, caesar salad, garlic shrimp for 5 of us and was filled! The chicken was a bit dry. Their bread and sauce is soo good!! Very quick service and local mom and pop shop. We got a box to go because we were stuffed and they even gave us extra green sauce to take home!

My first time having Uruguayan food and it was excellent! For first timers, i recommend you get the meat platter unless you really know what types of meat you like. We got: - meat platter for 2: i think it would feed about 4 average people. My personal favorite were the blood sausage and the sweet breads. The veal was quite tough but i feel like that's always the case. The beef ribs were also quite good but a little salty - paella marinera for 2: this one is probably indeed adequate for 2 people (maybe stretched for 3). The dish was so moist and all the seafood were perfectly cooked. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes and eat more sweet bread!!!

The Heart of Uruguayan Cuisine: What You’ll Find at El Chivito D’ Oro
Stepping into El Chivito D’ Oro, you're immediately embraced by the comforting aroma of grilled meats and freshly baked bread. The restaurant’s menu is a tribute to Uruguay’s rich culinary traditions, with dishes that reflect the country’s diverse cultural influences. At the heart of it all is the Chivito, Uruguay's national sandwich. This isn’t just any sandwich; it’s a towering masterpiece featuring tender beef, ham, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and a fried egg, all packed between soft buns. It’s a dish that embodies the spirit of Uruguayan food—bold, hearty, and unapologetically satisfying.
But the menu doesn’t stop at Chivitos. You’ll also find an array of Parrillada options, where different cuts of meat are grilled to perfection, showcasing the robust flavors that come from Uruguay’s tradition of asado. A Deep Dive into the Flavor Profiles and Ingredients
The magic of El Chivito D’ Oro lies in its ingredients. Everything from the bread to the meats is selected with care, ensuring authenticity in every bite. The beef used in their dishes is tender and flavorful, a testament to the quality of the meat sourced. In a city like New York, where culinary competition is fierce, this attention to detail sets El Chivito D’ Oro apart.
One of the standout ingredients is the mozzarella used in their sandwiches and dishes. This cheese is soft, melty, and adds a rich creaminess that balances the heartier flavors of the meat. Then there’s the ham—salty, slightly sweet, and perfectly cured, it complements the beef beautifully. Add to this the fresh lettuce and tomato, and you have a sandwich that’s as refreshing as it is filling.
The restaurant also uses local and imported ingredients to maintain the authenticity of their dishes. This blend of local freshness and imported flavors ensures that every dish is not only delicious but also true to its Uruguayan roots. Whether you’re biting into a Chivito or enjoying a plate of Parrillada, the quality of the ingredients shines through, making each meal memorable.

A friend took a group of us out here as coming here has been a ritual for her family for decades. We all couldn't stop raving about this place afterward and have been counting the days until we go back. We were a group of 8 and arrived close to 9 on a Friday night. It was still packed at this hour but thankfully we made reservations in advance and they had the table all ready for us. We had 2 Parrillada Chivito D'Oro Para 2s per 4 people and honestly, it was way too much food even for a bunch of hungry post-gymgoers. But my god was it excellent. It was my first time having matambre and I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything was cooked very well and being a Latin restaurant, expect the meats to be cooked medium - well done. We also had sangria (which was fantastic) and chicken empanadas, which in retrospect, we overestimated how much we were able to eat. We received such great service and the owners being familiar with our friend certainly helped.
